Genealogy Resources

The Jonesborough Library offers in-house access to Ancestry.com.   Ancestry.com is the number 1 online source for family history information.  It is the only online source for the entire U.S. Federal Census collection, 1790-1930.  Its many searchable databases include an immigration collection, historical maps, photos, military records, slave narratives, ship passenger lists, and more. This service is only available in our Jonesborough library.

Please note: As of 02-21-2012 Ancestry.com is temporarily unavailable at the Jonesborough Public Library.

Heritage Quest Online
(Available In Jonesborough Library and Off-Site)

Heritage Quest is a companion service to Ancestry Library.  It is also available in-house at the Jonesborough Library.  It too offers access to census information.  Heritage Quest includes, among other databases, an index to genealogy and history periodicals, military records, and family and local histories.  Heritage Quest is also available off-site to patrons with a current, Washington County Library card. Inquire at the Jonesborough Library for access instructions. This service is available to our patrons in library and off site.
